Julen Lopetegui stance emerges amid new Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United twist
Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the top transfer target for Julen Lopetegui at West Ham, according to TEAMtalk.
The Red Devils right-back missed first-team training on Thursday, 8 August, as reported by Steven Railston.
The Manchester Evening News journalist took to X to report that Erik ten Hag will be speaking to the press and there can be clarity offered on that situation.
It’s understood that as things stand, the 26-year-old’s wage demands appear to be too high for the Hammers and it’s insurmountable.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka must reduce his demands to join West Ham
Despite being a top transfer target for Lopetegui, the 26-year-old’s current salary expectations appear to be too high for the Hammers to accommodate.
Wan-Bissaka’s recent performances do not necessarily justify such high wages.
While he has shown flashes of brilliance, his overall consistency and impact on the pitch have been somewhat underwhelming.
This, coupled with Manchester United’s interest in signing Noussair Mazraoui, suggests that the club may be looking to offload Wan-Bissaka to make room for the new arrival.
For the right-back to secure a move to the London Stadium, he must be willing to reevaluate his wage demands.
Lowering his salary expectations could make him a more attractive option for the Hammers, who are clearly interested in his services.

Additionally, Manchester United’s desire to sign Mazraoui could provide the necessary motivation for Wan-Bissaka to accept a lower wage and facilitate his move to the capital.
In other West Ham news, Arsenal and Newcastle have made late moves to hijack Spurs’ deal to secure the services of a Hammers player this summer.
