Julen Lopetegui has approved West Ham United's summer transfer push for Flamengo defender Fabricio Bruno, according to TBR Football.

The outlet reported on Thursday (23 May) that the former Real Madrid manager who is set to be named as David Moyes' successor in the coming days, has given the green light to the Irons move for the Brazilian.

Technical director Tim Steidten has put the wheels in motion to secure the defender for a fee of around £15million ahead of the summer window, with personal terms all but finalised with the centre-back's representatives.

Will West Ham United announce the signing of Julen Lopetegui?

It hasn't been a secret that West Ham United and Lopetegui have already begin transfer talks ahead of his appointment, with a number of decisions already seemingly being made behind the scenes while Moyes was in place.

Some reports have suggested that some players could already be moved on when the former Wolves man is appointed, while others imply that some stars will be crucial parts of Lopetegui's plan once he is appointed.

Regardless of where the Hammers keep players this summer, it has been obvious for some time that the Irons need defensive reinforcements as neither Kurt Zouma or Nayef Aguerd have hit the heights expected of them this term.

Julen Lopetegui is set to be the next West Ham manager.

On top of that, Konstantinos Mavropanos has been criticised for his first season in England while Angelo Ogbonna has shown that he isn't capable of regularly producing the standard required in the Premier League anymore.

Hopefully, the remainder of this deal for Bruno will go off without a hitch and he will hit the ground running at the London Stadium, Lopetegui will need him to if he wants to start well.
