Journalist shares whether Thierry Nevers will leave West Ham United as Aberdeen development emerges

Thierry Nevers will not be making the move from West Ham to Aberdeen in the January transfer window, according to Scott Burns.

Writing on the Daily Record website on Thursday (11 January), the journalist said the 21-year-old’s switch to the Scottish Premiership club has “fallen by the wayside”.

The English winger is yet to make his senior debut for the Hammers since signing for the club from Reading on a three-year deal in the summer of 2021.

Likely to leave

It would be interesting to know why Nevers won’t be joining Aberdeen as you would think West Ham would be keen to move him on in the January transfer window.

The winger doesn’t appear to have a future at the London Stadium after he’s failed to force his way into the reckoning under David Moyes.

He’s had two spells out on loan with Newport County and Bradford City, but he registered just one goal and two assists in 26 appearances combined for the League Two clubs.

The Hammers will be keen for him to at the very least secure another loan this month as there is no real benefit in him sticking around to play for the U-21s side.

While he won’t be heading to Scotland, it’s likely he will still move on – permanently or on loan – before February comes around as there is plenty of time left to complete a transfer.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers could be set to make an approach for an “unbelievable” forward as his club are now open to a sale.
