Joseph Anang future confirmed as West Ham United exit news emerges
Joseph Anang has left West Ham in order to join St Patrick’s Athletic on a permanent basis, the club confirmed on 24 June.
The 24-year-old was on the books at the London Stadium for seven years and has finally sealed an exit on a free transfer after spending six months on loan at the Irish club in 2022.
He will move to the club on 1 July when his Hammers contract runs out and he will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract.
West Ham make the right decision by letting go of Joseph Anang
Anang’s return to St Patrick’s Athletic makes sense given his previous successful loan spell with the club and the fact that he was unlikely to break into the Hammers’ first team.
At 24 years old, the keeper needs regular playing time to continue his development, which he is more likely to get at St Patrick’s Athletic.
The London club already have a strong goalkeeping department with experienced players, making it difficult for Anang to secure a first-team spot.

By moving to St Patrick’s, he can play regularly and potentially attract attention from other clubs in the future.

The move also allows the club to free up a squad place and potentially invest in other areas of the team.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to secure the transfer of a player who’s set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this month.
