John Terry and Rio Ferdinand send messages to Declan Rice as West Ham United move to Arsenal confirmed
Following confirmation of his West Ham exit, John Terry and Rio Ferdinand have sent messages to Declan Rice via Instagram.
The pair of footballing legends commented on Rice’s Instrgam post (15 July) in which the 24-year-old said his goodbyes to the Hammers supporters.
On Saturday 15 July West Ham confirmed via their official website that Rice had left the club after spending a decade with the Irons having come through their academy.

Ferdinand and Terry both left short and simple comments which conveyed their support. Ferdinand commented one red heart while Terry left three blue hearts underneath the post.
Heartfelt
A flood of support has arrived from various supporters and footballers alike underneath Rice’s post.
However, the support from Ferdinand and Terry will be of particular interest to Rice as they can both relate to the move that the midfielder is now making.
Terry played at youth level for the Hammers up until the age of 14, the same age Rice was when he joined the East London side, before making the switch to West London and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Ferdinand had a much bigger impact at West Ham and can relate almost exactly to the career path Rice is undertaking. After making over 100 appearances for the Hammers, he left the club for Leeds United in 2000, before eventually ending up at Manchester United.
Rice will surely draw inspiration from the two comments and if his career ends as similarly as it began compared to the two legends, he will have a lot of success to look back on.
In other West Ham news, there might be some difficulty in a move for Rice’s replacement.
