Jhon Duran transfer: West Ham ‘third bid update’ amid £100m Aston Villa bombshell
West Ham United are unlikely to make a third bid for Jhon Duran as Aston Villa want £100million for the striker, according to The Sun.
Reporting in their print edition (21 January, page 47), the news outlet claims that the Villans are unhappy with the timing of the Hammers’ latest bid ahead of their Champions League game.
With money tight at the London Stadium during the winter transfer window, it means it is unlikely Graham Potter’s side will go back with an improved offer for Duran after two previous attempts.
West Ham need attacking reinforcements
Potter doesn’t find himself in the easiest position in East London with Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug all unavailable through injury, meaning more attacking options are needed.
After making a move for the striker in the summer, it’s not a big surprise to see the Hammers go back to the possibility of signing Duran during the transfer window.
However, it was unlikely to really materialise given how well he is doing at a club playing Champions League football this term.

With 12 goals in all competitions this term, the 21-year-old has also earned himself admiration from Paris Saint-Germain, meaning the Irons would have big competition if they remained in the race to sign the striker.
The East London outfit have also been linked with a move for Andre Silva during this window [Jack Rosser, 18 January] and now Villa’s asking price is clear, the club should be turning their attention to these other options now.
In other West Ham news, sources claim the Hammers can now secure the services of a £40m player in January.
