Jesse Lingard tipped to join West Ham United as he’s released by Manchester United
Jesse Lingard is being tipped to join West Ham after it was confirmed he’s leaving Manchester United this summer, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on 2 June (page 57) that Lingard, 29, was unhappy with his game-time at Old Trafford and saw a move away from the Red Devils blocked in January.
It is understood that after Man United announced he’ll be leaving on 1 June, West Ham are “tipped” to re-sign their former loan star while Newcastle and Roma are also reportedly keen on a deal.

Is it worth it?
West Ham will probably be linked with signing Lingard for the rest of his career.
If David Moyes does want to sign the England forward then we cannot blame him because he’s already proven very recently that he can stand out at the London Stadium.
Lingard was super impressive in his half-season loan spell with the Hammers in the 2020/21 season.
However, he could have rejoined us and instead of doing that, he opted to spend another season sat on the bench at Manchester United.
Whether promises to him were broken or the ex-Irons loan star was simply delusional, it’s hard to say.

But he was never going to be a regular starter for Man United – especially when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo.
Lingard played 22 times in all competitions for the Red Devils in the 2021/22 season and all but two his 16 Premier League appearances saw him get a start.
Lingard’s always struggled to be good enough for Man United but you can bet that he’ll be top-class for a team like West Ham if he does head back to the London Stadium.
It’s definitely worth having a look at a deal.
However, we do have other priorities in the striker area and in the centre of the midfield once a deal for centre-back Nayef Aguerd is done.
In other West Ham news, an offer has been made to make a behind-the-scenes appointment at the club.
