Jean-Clair Todibo wants Premier League move as West Ham United look to pounce

Nice defender Jean-Claire Todibo wants to move to the Premier League amid interest from West Ham United and Manchester United, according to HITC.

The online outlet has reported (2 July) that the Frenchman’s “focus” is on joining Man United, but he wants a Premier League move one way or another this summer.

It is claimed that this could hand the Hammers “a chance” of signing the central defender, who has previously been hailed a “leader” by Nice teammate Dante.

It is clear that the Hammers are in need of a central defender this summer to plug the existing gap at the back.

With Angelo Ogbonna already out the door and Nayef Aguerd looking to find a way out of the London Stadium, a defensive reshuffle is needed.

This has seen new head coach Julen Lopetegui go in search of an addition, with his former player Max Kilman being high on the list of potential suitors.

The Hammers have already seen a bid rejected for the Englishman, which may see them turn their attention to alternatives.

Todibo could prove to be an excellent piece of business for the Hammers, with plenty of interest in securing his services throughout the Premier League.

Manchester United may be stopped from signing the Frenchman due to themselves and Nice sharing the same owners.

This could leave West Ham in the clear for Tim Steidten to step in and put an offer in for the 24-year-old this summer.

In other West Ham news, Tottenham want to sign a Premier League defender the Hammers have already held talks for.
