Jean-Clair Todibo stance on West Ham United transfer as Tim Steidten attempts hijack

West Ham United are confident that Jean-Clair Todibo will agree to move to the London Stadium in the coming hours, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist reported via X on Friday (9 August) that the Irons are expected to complete their hijack of Juventus’ deal for the Nice defender, as he is expected to “green light” the move to East London.

Julen Lopetegui’s side will pay Nice £34million with the deal structured around an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy and the French club will also pocket a percentage of any future sale.

The Hammers have also already put travel plans in place should the deal go to plan after Tim Steidten jetted into France to try and ensure that the Irons would get their man ahead of Juventus [Fabrizio Romano, 8 August].

Will Jean-Clair Todibo exit Nice and complete West Ham transfer?

Having been completely out of the race to sign Todibo over the last couple of weeks, the Hammers have flown back into pole position and now appear set to finally get their man thanks to Steidten.

The man in charge of recruitment deserves plenty of credit for the deals he has managed to pull off this summer, but this could well be the best of the lot as the odds have been stacked against him from the start.

If Todibo is as keen on a move to the London Stadium as has been suggested, this initial loan deal could be completed sooner rather than later, especially now that transport has been arranged in the event of a green light.

Hopefully, that will allow the Nice man to have plenty of time to bed into his new surroundings ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign so that he can hit the ground running and step into the starting XI immediately.

Now all supporters have to wait for is a “here we go” from Romano before they can get really excited.
