Jean-Clair Todibo signs West Ham United contract, official announcement imminent
Jean-Clair Todibo has signed his contract to become a West Ham United player, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist shared via his personal X account [10 August] that Todibo has now put pen to paper at the London Stadium.
It comes amid an update provided by Dharmesh Sheth via X [9 August] that the centre-back is set to be unveiled by the Irons within the next “24-48 hours”, as of Friday evening (9 August).
West Ham United pull off huge coup in landing Todibo
West Ham’s interest in Todibo has been known for a while, but any hopes of landing the defender looked to be buried when Juventus entered the mix.
Word is that Tim Steidten played a major part in hijacking that bid, though, by jetting out to Nice and holding talks with the player [Fabrizio Romano, 9 August].
Todibo made just four LaLiga appearances during an underwhelming spell at Barcelona, but he has more than revived his career in Ligue 1 with Nice.
Indeed, had it not been for UEFA rules, the France international would have been a big-money signing for Manchester United earlier in the summer.
The Hammers – and Steidten in particular – deserve massive credit for taking advantage of that and getting a deal over the line for the talented player.
Given this latest update, it seems as though all that is left to do is post a picture of Todibo holding a West Ham scarf high above his head.
With this latest deal all but done, supporters will now hope that one more deal can be finalised before the window closes for business. Over to you, Tim.
