Jean-Clair Todibo signing West Ham deal on Friday as contract details emerge

Jean-Clair Todibo will sign his contract with West Ham United on Friday 9 August, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Sky Sports Germany journalist reported via X (9 August) that Clair-Todibo has completed his medical at the London Stadium.

The Hammers’ deal with OGC Nice for the defender is a one-year loan with an obligation to make the transfer permanent on a five-year deal.

As per Dharmesh Sheth via X (9 August), a formal announcement is expected in the next 24-48 hours.

West Ham United to announce the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo on Saturday?

It looks as if Clair-Todibo’s transfer to West Ham can be considered as good as done. All that is left for fans now is to sit back, relax, and see what creative announcement the media team can come up with.

It has been a remarkable 24 hours at the London Stadium with Tim Steidten certainly earning his money after the work he has put in to get this deal across the line.

The Hammers had one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League last season. Only the three sides relegated from the division conceded more times than David Moyes’ men.

Therefore, brand-new defenders were always going to be a priority for Julen Lopetegui upon his arrival at the club.

And with the signing of Max Kilman, and Clair-Todibo to follow, it looks as though supporters suddenly have an exciting back-two that they can get behind.

It has arguably been one of the club’s best transfer windows in years, and with plenty of time left until the deadline, fans will be hoping for more.

In other West Ham news, the club remain in active talks over the signing of another defender.
