Jean-Clair Todibo nervous about West Ham United transfer after what they did

West Ham United signing Max Kilman made Nice ace Jean Clair-Todibo nervous about a transfer to the club, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The newspaper reported via their website on Saturday (20 July) that although Todibo was a priority for Julen Lopetegui, the fact that he spent more than what would be required to sign the Frenchman on Kilman, made him question how serious the Hammers were.

This then thrust the centre-back towards gunning for a move to Juventus rather than to the Premier League.

West Ham United need to convince Jean Clair-Todibo to join this summer

West Ham had one of the weakest defences in the Premier League last season and it was evident that upgrades were needed in their backline.

Especially since the club seemingly want both Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd to exit the London Stadium during the transfer window.

Kilman has already been brought in for a fee worth around £40million and will no doubt become an integral part of the Hammers’ defence.

If both Zouma and Aguerd depart this summer then that means that the Hammers would be low in defensive numbers if no other players were brought in.

This is heightened by the fact that stalwart Angelo Ogbonna also exited the London Stadium upon the expiry of his contract.

But, at the end of the day it’s up to Todibo to agree upon a move and only time will tell if Lopetegui gets his man.
