Jarrod Bowen faces West Ham dilemma as exit potential begs question
Jarrod Bowen could leave West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
Relegation comes with many consequences, but perhaps none quite as severe as the sheer number of departures that is likely to follow.
Mateus Fernandes has been linked with some of Europe's greats, while the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Taty Castellanos have also been mooted for exits.
However, most eyes are on the future of Bowen, who has been an ever-present for the Hammers through the good and the bad since arriving from Hull City.
And yet this summer will pose the biggest challenge yet for the forward as he decides on where his future lies.
Could Jarrod Bowen stay at West Ham?
Bowen could play for just about any Premier League side and not look out of place, and for that reason, many expect him to move on this summer.
However, his emotional ties with the club may work in West Ham's favour, with some expecting him to stay for another campaign and get the Irons back to the top flight.
If that were to be the case, West Ham will have one of, if not the greatest player to ever play in the second flight of English football, and while he is still in his prime.
With that said, while that would be the perfect scenario for the Hammers, it may not work that way for Bowen.
Bowen has two things to consider this summer
Harry Kane is thriving at Bayern Munich, though he found himself in a somewhat similar situation at Tottenham, albeit far less severe.
It was clear he was unlikely to win any major trophies with the North Londoners, making him pick between honours or loyalty to the club that gave him the platform to get where he is today.
And that will be a similar situation that Bowen will find himself in this summer, albeit with the added dilemma of playing for England.
Thomas Tuchel has already snubbed Bowen for the World Cup, and that would almost certainly not change if he were to stay in the Championship.
