James Ward-Prowse exit imminent at West Ham United after last-gasp medical update
West Ham United midfielder James Ward-Prowse has completed his medical ahead of a loan move to Nottingham Forest, according to Rob Dorsett.
The Sky Sports journalist reported via Sky Sports News (30 August, 20:23) that the England international’s move to the City Ground should be completed “imminently” following his medical with Forest.
Ward-Prowse is expected to be the next signing confirmed by Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this summer, but his move from the London Stadium is expected to be a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy included [David Ornstein, 30 August].
Speaking on Sky Sports News, Dorsett said: “We expect James Ward-Prowse and his loan deal from West Ham to be completed imminently as well.
“I understand that he’s completed his medical so James Ward-Prowse could be the next man through the doors here at the City Ground.”
Will James Ward-Prowse exit West Ham amid Nottingham Forest transfer rumours?
This move came seemingly out of nowhere so late on in the summer, but it appears as though Ward-Prowse’s time in East London has come to an end, albeit temporarily, after only one season.
The England international was very much a David Moyes signing and while he impressed in patches under the Scotsman, he never quite managed to hit the heights expected of him in a claret and blue shirt having left Southampton.

He could still have a career with West Ham in the future. After all, a straight loan move means that he could well be plying his trade at the London Stadium again in less than 12 months time if he gets back to his best.
Regardless of what happens in the future, an announcement should arrive from Forest sooner rather than later. I’m sure most Hammers fans will be watching the midfielder’s performances closely over the coming months.
