James McAtee to talk with Pep Guardiola amid West Ham United transfer update
West Ham and Fulham target James McAtee is expected to stay at Manchester City for the rest of the season, according to Give Me Sport.
The news outlet reported on 21 November that sources claim the 22-year-old will hold talks with Pep Guardiola over getting increased game times in the coming months.
It’s understood that these discussions could see his stance of leaving the Etihad Stadium changing as continuing with the defending champions.
James McAtee could be a decent signing for West Ham
While Guardiola might not be playing him of late, it’s pretty evident from what he’s said, that he rates the Englishman quite highly.
In July, he said: “We have a high opinion of him. I would like to see. I would love to have him next season with us – he can play in the small spaces in the pockets.
“I think he grew up in terms of physicality and has played for a team fighting relegation and when you do this you get something special.”
McAtee has proven himself in the Championship and while the Premier League is an entirely different ball game, it’s evident that he has what it takes to do well in the top flight.
The Hammers have taken a punt on players from the second division in the past and they have turned out to be successes for them.
Also, it must be taken into consideration that he has trained under Guardiola so there will be something special about him.

A loan would make sense for all parties involved and it remains to be seen if things materialise in the coming weeks.
In other West Ham news, the club are in a six-horse race with their Premier League rivals to sign a striker and have already tabled a bid.
