Inter Milan table new £24.1m bid for West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca – Fabrizio Romano
Inter Milan have tabled a fresh £24.1m bid to sign West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca with personal terms agreed, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (4 August), the reliable transfer journalist reports that the Champions League finalists have submitted a new offer worth £20.7m up front with a further £3.4m in add-ons.
Personal terms have already been agreed and the player is ready to leave West Ham after just one season in east London, and talks between the two sides continue to find an agreement.
“Inter have submitted new proposal for Gianluca Scamacca. €24m plus €4m add-ons bid has been sent to West Ham,” he wrote.
“Negotiations continue as Scamacca has already agreed personal terms with Inter; deal depends on clubs.”

An exit for Scamacca now seems inevitable and it’s a real shame, but at leas the club are holding out for a decent fee.
Last year we splashed out £30m to bring him to England, with another £5m in add-ons, but they obviously won’t be met if he is to leave for Inter Milan this summer.

A £5m loss makes sense when you consider we have spread those payments across the length of his contract, and this will essentially see us break even on a player who showed great promise but ultimately never cut it at West Ham.
Considering the excitement when he signed, it’s a real shame how it all worked out but we’ve learnt in the past that it’s not good to keep a player around who doesn’t want to be here.
Now he needs to be replaced which is the real issue, because the way our transfer business has gone this summer we could be waiting a while for a new striker to walk through the door and we don’t have much time to wait.
