Inter Milan table £25m bid for Gianluca Scamacca, West Ham United want £35m

West Ham have rejected a new £25m bid from Inter Milan for Gianluca Scamacca and told them they want £35m, according to Tom Collomosse.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (1 August) the Daily Mail journalist reports that the Champions League finalists have made a second offer for the forward after seeing an initial £17m bid rejected.

But the new bid has also been turned down, with the Hammers wanting to recoup what they paid for him a year ago after signing him from Sassuolo.

“Inter latest offer for Gianluca Scamacca in region of £25m (£20m+£5m) turned down,” he wrote.

“West Ham bought the Italy forward for £35m so needs to be closer to that.”

Disappointing

When Scamacca arrived at the club last season there was great hope and expectation because of the season he had in Italy just before.

He started the season well with six goals in his first 12 games, but after struggling with injuries and also with the way the manager David Moyes wanted to play, he really struggled to make an impact.

His season got ended early with a knee injury but he came into pre-season fit again and has done really well with his performances and scored goals.

It looked set to be the year for him to really break through, but he now seems intent on leaving the club and West Ham know that keeping someone who doesn’t want to be here is only going to work against them in the long run.

But we can’t be left out of pocket because he doesn’t want to see out his contract, so the club must stay strong and hold firm until our price is met while working in the background for a replacement.
