Images emerge of Said Benrahma in Lyon kit with fans before West Ham United mayhem on Deadline Day
Images have emerged of West Ham United winger Said Benrahma wearing Lyon clothing, according to Actu Foot.
The publication shared the images of the London Stadium forward in France on X on Thursday (1 February), noting that he has since returned to England.
As per Fabrizio Romano (2 February), the player’s proposed move to the Ligue 1 club on Deadline Day collapsed, with the Hammers not completing their admin for the move.
Mayhem
Transfer Deadline Day has produced many memorable stories throughout the years, primarily involving failed deals. But this one involving Benrahma will be right up there with the very best, or the very worst in terms of how both Lyon and the player will be feeling right now.
It seemed for all the world that the Algerian would be making a winter transfer window switch to the French giants, only for things to collapse rather spectacularly.
There is seemingly hope from Lyon and Benrahma that a deal can still be struck, but West Ham have fallen pretty silent on the matter.
And that would be an understandable approach from the Premier League club, who perhaps cannot afford to lose Benrahma, particularly given how they did not sign a replacement.
A new central midfielder was brought to the London Stadium, with Kalvin Phillips arriving on loan from Premier League rivals Manchester City.
But Moyes remains slightly light in the final third, especially with injuries to the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio.
In other West Ham news, a Hammers exit deal broke down after an offer was made, with a manager rejection detailed.
