‘I’d prefer Dia’ – West Ham Super Fans say which striker they want Moyes to sign

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Ham Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around the London Stadium.

The January transfer window closes in just over a week and West Ham are yet to sign a new centre-forward after selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax.

A number of names have been linked with moves to the London Stadium as David Moyes aims to beef up his striker options for the final half of the season but so far, it doesn’t seem as though the Irons have come close to finding a replacement for Haller.

Joshua King, Youssef En-Nesyri and Boulaye Dia are among the strikers all linked with moves to West Ham and now, we’ve asked our panel of West Ham Super Fans to name which striker they would like to see head to the London Stadium.

Here is what they had to say:

Blackburn striker Adam Armstrong seems to be a popular choice among our panel of Super Fans.

The 23-year-old has been on fire in the Championship this season, scoring 16 goals in 23 league appearances for Tony Mowbray’s side so you can see why some Hammers fans could be excited by his potential arrival in East London.

Blackburn are bound to be unwilling to sell due to him scoring many goals and the fact the 12th-placed Championship side are possible play-off contenders but a bid would no doubt force their arm.

As for the others, Reims’ 24-year-old striker Dia is also interesting.

The Senegal international has scored 12 goals in 18 Ligue 1 appearances this season and only Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has scored more times [14] in the French top-flight this term.

GetFrenchFootballNews has reported the Irons have made contact with Dia in their bid to sign him so he’s certainly one to watch out for.

In other West Ham news, Moyes has responded to the Premier League’s investigation into Robert Snodgrass’ move to West Brom.
