Hugo Ekitike has rejected a move to Frankfurt as he wants to join West Ham from Paris Saint-Germain before the deadline, reports Sports Zone.

Writing on their official Twitter account (1 September), the French news outlet reports there is a total agreement between the Hammers and the player but PSG want him to go to Frankfurt as part of a deal to sign Randal Kolo Muani.

But according to Santi Aouna (1 September), Ekitike has turned down that move and negotiations aren’t expected to continue as he isn’t interested in the move.

“As revealed exclusively yesterday, Hugo Ekitike and West Ham are in agreement,” Sports Zone wrote.

“Paris is still pushing him towards Frankfurt, but at 2p.m. there is still no agreement with the German club.

“Negotiations are continuing. If it’s up to Hugo Ekitike, he will join West Ham.”

Aouna then added his own update, claiming Ekitike will not be joining Frankfurt.

“Hugo Ekitike has just refused a new offer from Frankfurt. And this, despite a significantly reassessed salary proposal,” he wrote.

“This seems to be the end of the negotiations between Frankfurt and Ekitike.”

Excellent

Paris Saint-Germain don’t really care where Ekitike goes, but their pursuit of Kolo Muani means that Frankfurt want a replacement and it made sense to kill two birds with one stone.

But with Ekitike clearly not remotely interested in that move, West Ham have a great chance to swoop in and secure a deal with the French giants to get a new striker in.

After losing Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta we currently only have Michail Antonio and Danny Ings as striker options, with both players not at their happiest right now.

So bringing in Ekitike would be excellent for the Hammers, although it will be incredibly tough to get a deal done now considering the time restraints.

It’s one to watch in the coming hours, but Ekitike wants to come to east London so there is every possibility that this deal happens in the final stretch of the window and Moyes can get his man.

In other West Ham news, club will only sanction exit of first-team ace on one condition.
