How West Ham United can get their Axel Disasi replacement for £10m

West Ham United have been in need of a new Axel Disasi eversince the season ended.

The France international came in on loan from Chelsea in January and hit the ground running immediately.

He was key to everything good about the Irons as they put up a positive run of form under Nuno Espirito Santo.

That wasn't enough to avoid relegation as Championship football now awaits at the London Stadium.

The 28-year-old won't be featuring in the second tier, but a direct alternative could be in the pipeline.

But, West Ham are yet to make a real push in the transfer window, something they simply must do soon.

That's where Leicester's Harry Souttar comes in.

How does Harry Souttar compare to Axel Disasi?

The Stamford Bridge loanee came with obvious strengths and weaknesses.

He didn't possess much pace, but certainly made up for that with his height, strength and ability on the ball.

That saw him put up 6.31 defensive actions per 90 in the Premier League, while also winning an average of 2.73 duels.

Disasi was dribbled past just 0.07 times per game and contributed to a total of six clean sheets.

That won't be easy to replace, but West Ham Zone has covered a London Stadium interest in signing Souttar from Leicester City.

In his last full campaign, which came with Sheffield United in 2024/25, he contributed 8.51 defensive actions, 5.40 duel wins and 13 clean sheets.

Although in a different league, they all better Disasi's output and could be maintained as the Irons drop into the second tier.

The Australia international is also physically imposing and is known for his aerial ability.

Should the Hammers see Souttar as the replacement for the Frenchman, it would be worth sealing a deal as soon as possible.

West Ham know how much to pay for Souttar

There is every chance that the Leicester man's defensive dominance could make him an excellent option for Nuno's side.

Although that may be the case, a deal needs to be agreed with the Foxes, who appear to be playing hardball.

West Ham remain keen on his signature, but have their eye on a loan move this summer.

Whether it be a permanent or temporary move, the Hammers should push for a deal as they already know exactly what he can bring.

Souttar could be the ideal replacement for Disasi after his potentially damaging return to Chelsea.

This could be the perfect tonic.
