How Martin Adeline would revolutionise West Ham's midfield as Mateus Fernandes replacement
Martin Adeline has already emerged on West Ham's radar.
The Hammers will undoubtedly be looking in the market for midfield reinforcements following Mateus Fernandes' exit.
There have been numerous links for midfielders since the end of the season, but the perfect choice have been linked early on.
That would come in the form of Troyes ace Martin Adeline.
While there has been little movement on the Adeline front since the original links, with Fernandes now out the door, the Irons should make their move.
And people who have previously worked with the Frenchman have already explained what makes him special.
What would West Ham get with Martin Adeline?
Adeline was linked to West Ham by the Daily Mail in June after the midfield ace helped Troyes get promoted to Ligue 1.
That experience in a promotion battle is just one of the reasons why the Frenchman may be a perfect star for the Irons, but there is plenty more about him.
As relayed by L'Equipe, former manager of the midfielder, Mathieu Lacour, stated in 2022: "He's a very intelligent player, elegant on the ball, and with a high work rate."
Adeline is a box-to-box midfielder who is equally capable on either foot, with L'Equipe also sharing how he "possesses excellent vision."
When it came to Fernandes, his passing ability was one of his standout traits, so replacing him with someone else of that ilk would be a perfect like-for-like addition.
And last season, Adeline managed to get both 10 goals and 10 assists, a level of output that would certainly transform how the Hammers' midfield impacts games.
How Adeline has already set himself up for a new experience abroad
When players move countries, there is always a fear of how well they could adapt, but Adeline has already showcased he is capable on his own.
L'Equipe have shared how Adeline took his break over the summer to take time on his own backpacking.
The Frenchman keeps things simple, travelling with just a "carry-on suitcase, a small backpack, and four outfits."
Additionally, he stays in smaller and more compact accommodation with just a desk, bed and a shower.
That independence to explore other countries would certainly suit him well if he were to move to London.
The adaptation period could ultimately be shorter for the 22-year-old and allow him to have a quick impact at London Stadium.
West Ham are unable to afford gambles in the market as they look to gain instant promotion.
And the activities of Adeline do point to a limited risk of any potential transfer.
