Jarrod Bowen is once again the centre of transfer attention for West Ham United as Crystal Palace get ready to test the waters.

Though the skipper has already come out and pledged his future to the Hammers, his future still seems uncertain until the window is officially shut.

Fears that the former English international could leave E20 may have only been made worse after the poor start to the Championship that the Irons have had.

Bowen is now on Palace's radar, as West Ham's London rivals look to replace Ismaila Sarr, who is likely to leave Selhurst Park in the coming days.

Sarr has been a central part of Crystal Palace's success in recent years, but is close to joining Galatasaray in a £34million move.

The Eagles have now turned their attention to Bowen, who they want to steal from Nuno Espirito Santo.

Crystal Palace plot Jarrod Bowen raid after transfer admission

According to an update from The Sun on Sunday, Palace are preparing a £50m swoop for Bowen.

It's said that the move would cause "huge fan backlash" at West Ham, seemingly because of what has already been said, as well as the potential of selling to a London rival.

Palace are not put off by the fact that Bowen recently signed a new deal with the Hammers, even after he penned fresh terms with the E20 side.

It's understood that selling the 29-year-old would go a long way in easing the financial pressure off the Irons, though it's clear they do not want to sell their captain.

The Eagles want Bowen to replace Sarr in a £84m transfer domino twist that could see the latter leave East London after all.

What would £50m do for West Ham amid Bowen exit links?

It was made clear before West Ham sold a single player that they would need to raise around £150m in player sales to ease their off-field pressures.

The sales of Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville made that requirement look much easier, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka's sale the latest departure that has helped the Hammers out.

With Taty Castellanos and Malick Diouf possibly leaving the London Stadium for a combined fee of what would be well over £50m, West Ham may soon have all they need to sit comfortably in the Championship for at least one season.

This means that though Bowen's potential £50m sale would be welcomed from a financial standpoint right now, it makes total sense to keep their captain around and sell others who do not want to be at the club.
