Guido Rodriguez exit update shared at West Ham United
Guido Rodriguez is now “unlikely” to depart West Ham United for a return to Real Betis, according to InfoRealBetis.
The Spanish outlet reported via their website [1 January] that while the midfielder’s exit is still on the cards for the winter transfer window, a return to Betis is not.
It was already known that a return would be difficult to sanction, but now the likelihood of the deal actually happening has emerged.
West Ham United seem to be stuck with Guido Rodriguez for now
Although it seems that the Hammers are still looking for a potential suitor for the 2022 World Cup winner, it feels like the most likely team for him to move to have now been ruled out.
Rodriguez was brought in during the summer transfer window in order to try and strengthen Julen Lopetegui’s midfield ranks but, in reality, it feels like he’s done everything but that.
The London Stadium outfit’s midfield has been the main source of their problems this season, with none of their central players having enough pace to keep up with the Premier League opposition they face.

While each player has talent and would no doubt be better in one of Europe’s other top-five leagues, it feels like things just haven’t worked out for the Argentina international in England.
If West Ham want to better their chances of earning European football by the end of the term, getting Rodriguez’s wage slip off their books would be an ideal way for them to do so, if a suitor can be found.
