Guido Rodriguez exit on at West Ham United amid £2.5m transfer development

West Ham United would allow Guido Rodriguez to exit the London Stadium for a fee of around £2.5million, according to InfoRealBetis.

The Spanish outlet reported via their website on 25 November that the Hammers have said they’d only allow the Argentina international to depart if they received back the money they spent on his signing bonus.

However, the report adds that if the midfielder wants to return to Real Betis, the LaLiga side “would not be willing” to invest any money into his transfer and would only take him on a loan deal.

West Ham need to cut their losses and get rid of Guido Rodriguez

When the transfer of Guido Rodriguez to the London Stadium was announced, many fans were excited by his arrival due to the pedigree he brought with him and the fact that he won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina.

The midfielder left Betis on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract in the summer and managed to find his way into Julen Lopetegui’s plans.

However, his integration into the squad has been far from smooth sailing and his performances have often left a lot to be desired with most fans and pundits believing he’s not agile or fast enough to be a top-level performer in the Premier League.

One of the Hammers’ main issues this term has been the centre of the park and it feels like the best thing for both parties will be to part ways as soon as possible.

A loan deal might not be exactly what they’re looking for but it would take some of his wages off of West Ham’s bill and perhaps allow them to bring in another player on a six-month loan deal to try and bolster their ranks.
