Gianluca Scamacca exit from West Ham United to be announced within hours, deal all but done
Gianluca Scamacca’s exit from West Ham United is about to be announced by Atalanta, according to Foot Mercato.
The French news outlet reported on Monday (7 August) that “everything is now complete” for the 24-year-old to return to Serie A 12 months after he joined the Irons from Sassuolo.
It is understood that the announcement is expected “in the coming hours” with the Daily Mail reporting the transfer is worth £27.6million.

Arrivederci
Scamacca’s stay at West Ham was short and not so sweet.
The Italian striker cost the Hammers for £35.5million last year but he went on to score just eight goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.
Only three of those goals were scored in the Premier League with the rest coming in the Europa Conference League.
The reason why there was a bit of a good side to Scamacca’s time at West Ham was that his goals in Europe helped us to reach the final in Prague.

Although he didn’t play in the 2-1 win over Fiorentina, Scamacca got us into the group stages and then into the knock-out rounds with goals against Viborg, Silkeborg, Anderlecht – who he scored a winner against – and then AEK Larnaca in the last 16.
It’s a shame it didn’t work out with the Italy international because we know that he could be a good player for most Premier League sides. He’s just not someone who worked well in David Moyes’ system.
Atalanta have emerged as one of Italy’s best teams in recent years so he’ll have a big job there to stay in their first team and get plenty of games.
We wish him well though.
Scamacca will be the fourth first-team player to leave West Ham this summer after Manuel Lanzini, Arthur Masuaku and Declan Rice.
In other West Ham news, another transfer target has made his decision ahead of his “dream” move.
