Gianluca Scamacca can’t wait to leave West Ham United amid Roma transfer U-turn
West Ham star Gianluca Scamacca can’t wait to leave the East Londoners after Roma have once again turned their attention to the forward, according to CalcioMercato.
The Italian news outlet reported on 18 July that the Serie A club are “ready to surrender” in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and return to their “original plan” of landing a deal for the the Hammers striker.
It claims Scamacca is “looking forward to returning” to Rome and that West Ham have opened up to the possibility of sending the Italian forward on loan to Roma with a conditional obligation-to-buy clause.

Player seems content
The stories about Scamacca potentially leaving East London continue to rumble on despite the forward so far featuring heavily in the club’s pre-season matches.
After scoring the winner in the Hammers’ 3-2 victory over rivals Tottenham today (18 July), he has now scored in successive matches and seems to be pretty content in a claret and blue shirt.
His social media pages are also filled with content showing him playing in the pre-season matches, which is something any player desperate to be moving on would not usually do.

The interest from Roma doesn’t seem to be going away, so to ensure the player isn’t in any doubt about his situation with the upcoming season rapidly approaching, West Ham need to make their stance on his future clear in the next few days.
Scamacca has looked sharp and focused in the games so far, so we should be looking to fend off any interest to keep hold of him.
In other West Ham news, another Hammers forward could be on his way out of East London following “private negotiations” with another club.
