Galatasaray want West Ham outcast Felipe Anderson
Galatasaray are in hot pursuit of West Ham midfielder Felipe Anderson with the Brazilian set to return to London after a miserable loan spell at Porto, according to Sabah.
The Turkish news outlet claims Galatasaray are hoping the 28-year-old can revive his stalling career in Istanbul with the playmaker earning just 10 appearances while on loan at Porto this season.
It is understood that as Anderson will enter the final year of his contract at the London Stadium in the summer, he’s willing to extend it by an extra 12 months and pursue a loan-to-buy arrangement elsewhere.
If Anderson does that, it means West Ham should receive a fee for him next year rather than having to let him leave on a free transfer.
Galatasaray appear to be super keen on the ex-Lazio player, who’s dubbed a “world-famous” player by Sabah as he tops the Turkish clubs shortlist for the summer transfer window.
Get rid
West Ham are far from the point where they’d be able to recoup a substantial amount of the money they paid for Anderson in 2018.
The Brazilian became the Hammers’ record signing for £36million but he’s really struggled to prove he’s worthy anywhere near that with a number of sub-par performances since.
At Porto this term, Anderson has been woeful, playing just 10 times in all competitions as Sergio Conceição’s side missed out on winning the Liga NOS title.
West Ham simply have to get rid of him this summer by any means neccessary.
If Anderson is willing to extend his contract by a year then leave on a loan-to-buy basis then that should be fine with the board and with David Moyes.
It would be a mandatory purchase option for whoever wants to sign him so the Hammers will get some of their money back on the expensive flop.
Ultimately, we’re in a better place without Anderson than with him as Moyes has proven that you can throw all the money you want at players but that doesn’t mean you’re buying a good attitude or someone who will work hard.
Jarrod Bowen, in a year and a half, has been twice the player Anderson has been and he was signed from Hull.
In other West Ham news, Simon Jordan has made a worrying claim about Jesse Lingard, Tottenham and £100million.
