Galatasaray update emerges for West Ham United in Aaron Wan-Bissaka transfer race
Galatasaray have joined West Ham United in tracking Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The outlet reported on its website on Monday (8 July) that Julen Lopetegui’s Hammers and the Turkish giants are keeping tabs on the exit-linked 26-year-old during the summer transfer window.
Reports have suggested the Red Devils right-back is one of several defenders on the Irons’ radar this summer and is yet to hold any talks over extending his stay at Old Trafford with a new contract [Dharmesh Sheth, 2 July].
United are understood to not be actively looking to sell Wan-Bissaka this summer but have begun their due diligence over his future as he enters the final 12 months of his current deal in Manchester.
Will Aaron Wan-Bissaka exit Manchester United amid West Ham transfer links?
Lopetegui is keen to add to the Irons’ defensive ranks between now and the start of the Premier League season and with Max Kilman’s signature already secured, he may now turn his attention to recruiting at fullback.
Vladimir Coufal is the only senior right-back currently available at the London Stadium at this moment in time following Ben Johnson’s move to Ipswich so it would make sense for the Irons to bolster their options.
While he has occasionally been criticised for his work in possession, there are few better one-on-one defenders in the Premier League than Wan-Bissaka and under the right management, he can be incredibly effective.

The 26-year-old showed during his time at Crystal Palace that he can be incredibly hard to beat without the ball and under Lopetegui’s pragmatic style, he could really flourish and rediscover his best form in Eats London.
Whether or not a move to West Ham will be more appealing than a summer switch to Galatasaray remains to be seen as this deal could entirely hinge on the defender’s own personal preference.
