Fabrizio Romano: West Ham United complete deal to sign Manchester City midfielder Dan Rigge
West Ham United have completed the signing of young midfielder Dan Rigge from Manchester City, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Thursday night (9 June), the Guardian journalist said that Rigge, 16, is “leaving” Man City and “has just signed with West Ham”.
It is understood that there were nine Premier League clubs who wanted to sign Rigge before he opted to head to the London Stadium.
Done deal?
There’s a bit of confusion about this.
Rigge was reported by ExWHUemployee to have joined the Irons from Manchester City back in January [Patreon, 10 January] with the reliable Irons insider reporting that despite a lack of announcement, the deal was done.

Romano is now saying that Rigge has only just joined West Ham.
Luckily, Ex cleared that up on his Patreon account on Friday morning (10 June).
Ex now reports that the deal was set up in January but Rigge had since trained with numerous other clubs, including Liverpool, before joining back up with the Hammers this summer.
It seems that due to his tender age, Rigge was still able to have trials elsewhere but it looks as though the teenage talent has stuck to his word and will now become the newest addition at the London Stadium.
Rigge turned 16-years-old this year so we don’t expect to see him in the senior side for a very long time; it might even be a while before he’s in the Under-18s.
But to come from Manchester City and to have had a trial at Liverpool speaks volumes about this young midfielder, who seems to have a lot of potential.
We wish Rigge all the best in his development.
In other West Ham news, a deal is on the cards to sign a forward who Moyes once compared to Wayne Rooney.
