Fabrizio Romano believes there is a "concrete possibility" that Eddie Nketiah will leave Arsenal this summer and has named West Ham as a potential destination.

The England international has found himself as the third-choice striker at The Emirates this season after signing a new contract last summer, rejecting the Hammers in the process.

But with the Gunners looking to strengthen that area of their squad again, Romano told his Daily Briefing on Substack (30 April) that previously interested clubs like West Ham, Crystal Palace and clubs in Europe could look to make a move again.

Is Eddie Nketiah the answer to West Ham striker problems?

The striker position at the London Stadium has been cursed for a few seasons now, with the only player seemingly capable of getting any sort of form or run there being Michail Antonio.

But the Jamaica international is approaching the end of his career now and injuries are catching up to him, so a new signing is necessary to provide a reliable goal threat from that position.

Nketiah has only got 19 Premier League goals in 116 appearances in his career, but the vast majority of those have been from the substitutes bench and he has shown at international level with the Under-21s that he is capable of scoring regularly.

Usually, he wouldn't fit the style or mould of striker that David Moyes gets the most joy from, but with the manager set to leave the club at the end of the season, his profile could suit someone else.

He is quick, strong, and a good finisher with both feet and mobile. With quality like Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus around him, it could be perfect for him to flourish and this could be shrewd business for the club.
