Fabrizio Romano names ‘one to watch’ for West Ham to sign next amid £33.6m update

West Ham United are showing interest but are yet to submit a bid to Juventus for Matias Soule this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

In his daily briefing with Caught Offside (14 June), the transfer specialist has reported that an exit is “one to watch” as the Hammers have “concrete interest” in the Argentine.

A formal bid is yet to be made but the Old Lady are said to want £33.6m to sell the versatile attacker this summer with plenty of interest from across Europe.

It is said that there is “an open race” to sign Soule this summer but West Ham are said to be “keen” on signing the 21-year-old.

West Ham interested in Mathias Soule

The Hammers are in the market for an attacker this summer as they look to bolster their options going forward ahead of the new season.

This has already begun with the signing of Luis Guilherme from Palmerias but at 18 years old, he is definitely one for the future.

Signing Soule could prove to be a risk given that he is just 21 years old and has yet to play outside of Italy in his professional career.

He is capable of playing on either wing, as a number ten or even as a striker which could be useful for Julen Lopetegui’s squad moving forward.

£33.6m is a large outlay for a player who may not bring any guarantees of goals or assists in the Premier League despite a positive season in Serie A.

It is clear that he is highly rated and a move to the London Stadium would be highly coveted but may be questioned if Soule doesn’t hit the ground running.
