Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus is yet to make a decision over his long-term future, despite links with West Ham United, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Germany international's contract with the Bundesliga giants is due to expire at the end of the season and reports have emerged that the Irons have been offered the chance to sign the 34-year-old on a free transfer [Football Insider, 6 March].

While Italian journalist Romano confirmed that Reus is yet to make a final decision, he hasn't ruled out a summer transfer to the London Stadium insisting the winger's entire focus is on the remainder of Dortmund's season.

Writing in his Daily Briefing on Thursday (7 March) he said: "Due to be a free agent this summer, Marco Reus still hasn't decided anything about his future despite links with West Ham and clubs in Turkey and MLS.

"Reus will take his time, nothing will be decided now as he wants to think well about his future and now also the Champions League with Dortmund is his main focus."

Will West Ham United complete summer transfer to bring Marco Reus to the London Stadium?

West Ham were keen to add to their wide options during the January transfer window as they were linked with a whole host of wingers. However, most of their reported targets were at the other end of their careers to Reus.

The German international has had an impressive career so far, both at club and international level. But he has been plagued by injuries throughout his time at Dortmund that have arguably stopped him from making the step up to a genuine European giant.

It would be a huge gamble for the Hammers to bring him to the London Stadium as it remains to be seen whether or not they could rely on Reus to play week in and week out, especially with the intensity of the Premier League.

With uncertainty still looming around David Moyes and Tim Steidten's future in East London, it will be hard for West Ham to plan too far ahead in terms of transfers, but this could be an exciting deal to keep an eye on.
