Fabricio Bruno to jet into Europe to sign for West Ham United around 14 June amid agreement
Flamengo defender Fabricio Bruno is set to fly into Europe to sign for West Ham United around 14 June, according to Trivela.
The report on 22 May reveals that Bruno caught West Ham’s attention with his performance for Brazil during a friendly with England at Wembley.
The Hammers have reportedly submitted a bid of around £13million and a deal is close to being finalised.
Where will Fabricio Bruno fit in at West Ham United?
Bruno represents an unusual signing for West Ham, given he is a 28-year-old central defender who has never played outside of his native Brazil.
However, his relatively low cost – and likely inexpensive wage packet – makes him a relatively low-risk purchase.
Furthermore, it seems likely that he will occupy a role on the fringes of the squad, rather than being bought to be a regular starter – unless he impresses beyond what is expected of him.
Angelo Ogbonna’s contract expires this summer, while Kurt Zouma has just a year remaining on his deal and Nayef Aguerd has failed to impress consistently since arriving in London.

With incoming head coach Julen Lopetegui set to overhaul the Hammers squad, a raft of new faces – and new defenders – could be set to arrive at the London Stadium along with Bruno.
Hammers fans will hope the Brazilian’s likely arrival marks the start of what is expected to be an exciting summer for the club.
