ExWHUemployee: West Ham have permanent clause for Alphonse Areola

West Ham United have a permanent clause to complete the signing of Alphonse Areola, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable source has shared that the loan deal is similar to the one of Craig Dawson from Watford last season.

It is believed that it could be triggered should Areola play a certain amount of games for the Irons this season.

Writing on his personal Twitter account this week, Ex shared the major update that will no doubt leave Irons fans pleased.

“I believe it is like Dawson’s and is triggered after a certain amount of games from memory,” he said.

It has been a brilliant couple of weeks for Areola at the London Stadium.

After keeping Genk at bay in that huge 3-0 win in the Europa League, the Frenchman was the hero in the Carabao Cup against Manchester City.

Keeping clean sheets against that level of opponent is only going to help his cause, but he still doesn’t look close to replacing Lukasz Fabianski in the Premier League.

The Pole this week admitted that a new contract was likely, but with David Martin and Darren Randolph expected to leave, Areola signing permanently would make perfect sense.

Areola has been brilliant when called upon, and we expect this deal to be concluded in 2022, regardless of him meeting any clauses or not.

Having Areola and Fabianski available permanently from 2022 onwards would be perfect and offer David Moyes a serious headache consistently with his selection – something that will only push both to reach better levels.
