ExWHUemployee: West Ham to miss out on Leeds-bound Junior Firpo
West Ham are set to miss out on signing Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo, according to ExWHUemployee.
The reliable Hammers source claims that Firpo, 24, instead looks more likely to join Leeds United this summer.
“Firpo, the Barcelona left-back, is someone that we are interested in. It looks like he might be joining Leeds,” said ExWHUemployee on the latest episode of the West Ham Way podcast.

Cross one off the list
It has been a slow start to the summer transfer window and we can see on social media that some of our fans have started to grow a bit uneasy over the lack of activity.
However, it’s still early days and a lot of other clubs – especially in the Premier League – are in the same boat as us.
ExWHUemployee keeps talking about a ‘domino effect’ that everyone is waiting for and it’s likely that will happen once the European Championships are over.
It’s also important to remember that there are three Premier League clubs without a manager who’ll also be stalling on transfer business and potentially holding up other deals.

West Ham are not one of the market-shifters. While we’re bound to have a decent budget this summer, it’s not going to be a massive one and clubs are less likely to sell their players until movement starts to happen.
Barcelona seem keen to sell players due to their ridiculous levels of debt and Firpo might have been a good addition.
However, the Irons must have other left-back targets in mind who may trump Firpo in their books, which is why Leeds seem as though they’re the club set to sign him from Barca.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are ready to take a massive loss on this player.
