ExWHUemployee shares Christian Benteke update as West Ham speculation emerges
ExWHUemployee has ruled out the possibility of West Ham signing Christian Benteke from Crystal Palace in the final 48 hours of the January transfer window.
The Guardian has reported that there’s a chance Benteke, 31, could join the Hammers on loan before the transfer window closes. The Sun claims the Londoners are eyeing up a bid to sign the £10million-rated Belgian striker permanently.
Reliable insider ExWHUemployee now reports that it’s very unlikely a move for Benteke will be made.

Writing on the West Ham Way’s Patreon account, he said: “One source (we usually check with two) says that we would not buy him and even if the player is [available] on loan we probably wouldn’t loan him either. Will update you if it changes.”
Cross him off the list
West Ham need to finish this month by signing a striker because we’re quite worried about what will happen if we suffer injuries between now and May.
It happened last season and we narrowly missed out on a top-four finish because there was no great back-up for Michail Antonio or Declan Rice.
We cannot afford for that to happen again, especially if we want to keep players like Rice around because qualifying for the Champions League would be an incredible achievement by the Irons.

Benteke isn’t going to be a game-changing signing but at least if we sign him on loan, it will tide us over until the summer and then David Moyes can splash the cash on a massive new addition.
It all makes sense, in our opinion.
We’re starting to feel as though we’re not going to sign anyone between now and 11pm tomorrow and that is a massive shame.
