ExWHUemployee raves about Manchester United ace Scott McTominay amid speculation linking him to West Ham United

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Manchester United’s Scott McTominay and ExWHUemployee has been raving about the midfielder.

The Hammers insider said on 14 July he wouldn’t be surprised if the club went in for the Scotland international this summer as they look to replace the outgoing Declan Rice.

The Independent have reported that the East Londoners are “monitoring” his situation, but Newcastle are also rumoured to be keen on the 26-year-old.

West Ham

Speaking on The West Ham Way Podcast, ExWHUemployee said he believes the Man United man would be an ideal signing for the Hammers this summer.

“My view is that he’d be a great signing for West Ham. He plays a very similar role to Rice, which would be ideal as we look to push on,” he added.

“He’s been a Manchester United player for years and has proven he is more than capable. He’s also the star player for his nation Scotland. I would not at all be surprised if we went in for him this summer.”

Dependable

If the Hammers can manage to land McTominay, that would mark a very good piece of business as the club prepare for a future beyond Rice.

He has proven to be a solid, dependable player for the Red Devils over a number of years, having earned the trust of just about every manager he’s worked under to play him in some of the biggest games.

David Moyes is rumoured to be a big fan of his fellow countryman, so it would be no surprise to see him act quickly and make a bid for the midfielder once the Rice move is completed.

West Ham

While he didn’t perhaps feature as much as he would like for the Old Trafford club last season, he did still make 39 appearances for his side, managing to score three goals.

West Ham could do much worse than to bring McTominay in, as his large physical presence and ability to get about the pitch would be a real asset to the team.
