ExWHUemployee rates West Ham United chances of signing Christian Eriksen amid Brentford development
West Ham are interested in Christian Eriksen but a deal for the Danish playmaker is “very unlikely”, according to ExWHUemployee.
Writing via his Patreon page on Sunday (5 June), the reliable Irons insider reported that a “wage battle” is on the cards for the 30-year-old, who’s set to be out of contract when his Brentford deal expires at the end of this month.
It is understood that Brentford are keen to agree fresh terms with the Denmark international while Everton, Manchester United and Tottenham are also keen.

ExWHUemployee said: “We can reveal that Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen is a player that we admire but are very unlikely to sign.”
He added: “It would take a large wage offer and some real convincing to see the Dane in Claret and Blue next year.”
Claret & Hugh reported on 4 June that David Moyes is interested in Eriksen.
Massive shame
Let’s be honest, we’re not shocked to read this.
We’ve seen so many top players linked with a move to West Ham in recent years only for the Irons to fail in their pursuit of a deal.
And the cause of the failure is mainly down to finances with the club becoming decreasingly willing to splash the cash in recent years.

David Gold and David Sullivan have wasted a lot of money on rubbish signings in their time as West Ham United owners and that could be scaring them off pulling out the big guns for deals these days.
However, it’s holding us back and it’s one of the big reasons as to why we didn’t reach the Europa League final and dropped down the Premier League table after the January transfer window closed with no new signings being made.
Eriksen is a superb player.
The former Tottenham and Inter Milan star joined Brentford in January as they took a chance on the midfielder following his cardiac arrest at the European Championships last summer.
He was brilliant for the Bees and although he’s an ex-Spurs player, he’s one that we do love to watch play.
Let’s hope that if he’s not going to join West Ham, he stays at Brentford and repays the club that offered him a football lifeline.
In other West Ham news, an offer has been made to make a behind-the-scenes appointment at the club.
