ExWHUEmployee: Luizao West Ham United exit on the cards before 24 February

Luizao is expected to leave West Ham United before 24 February as transfer talks are being held with a European club.

The Brazilian defender signed for the Hammers in 2023 but has since only featured for the reserve sides.

Luizao hasn’t gotten many opportunities at the London Stadium, and it isn’t surprising to see him being linked with an exit despite the winter transfer window ending in most leagues.

One club in particular is close to signing the 22-year-old as he looks to kickstart his career elsewhere.

Pogon Szczecin set to sign Luizao from West Ham United

Luizao is in talks to join Polish outfit Pogon Szczecin from the Irons, according to ExWHUEmployee.

The Hammers’ insider reported via The West Ham Way (21 February) that the Brazilian centre-back is expected to join the Ekstraklasa club before their transfer deadline on 24 February.

Discussions have been held about both a loan and a permanent move, with the defender likely to depart the East London club in the coming days.

It has been claimed that the 22-year-old is looking to settle elsewhere with his wife and kids, with a West Ham exit on the cards.

Luizao nightmare at London Stadium to end

Luizao has had a nightmare at the London Stadium after failing even to make the cut into the first team setup.

At 22, it makes sense for the Brazilian centre-back to demand more senior footballing opportunities, but it doesn’t look like he will get that at the East London club.

Graham Potter has replaced Julen Lopetegui at the Hammers, but that still hasn’t changed the defender’s fortunes, while some players have got a new lease on life.

Jean Clair-Todibo has been unavailable to Potter for a few weeks, but the English manager has been reluctant to make many changes to his defence.

The former Brighton head coach has failed to make much of an impact in his initial days as the Irons have fallen down the Premier League table.

Vladimir Coufal has been deployed in a back three, highlighting the lack of trust in someone like Luizao.

The Brazilian defender should look for pastures new, and hopefully, his time in Poland will be fruitful if the deal goes through.
