Everything Nuno has admitted about Axel Disasi as sensational West Ham return on the cards
Nuno Espirito Santo is a big fan of Axel Disasi who could return to West Ham United this summer.
The Hammers have always wanted the centre-back to come back to E20 after a successful loan spell.
Disasi has been an outcast at Chelsea and looks set for another exit this summer, although this time it could be permanent.
The Frenchman has multiple clubs across Europe after him, and it's unclear as to whether he'd make the drop to the Championship.
The 28-year-old played a crucial role in turning the Irons' form around when he arrived on loan last winter, but he alone wasn't enough to prevent the club from relegation.
Despite the obvious task that would be required to re-sign Disasi, West Ham are now said to be in talks with Chelsea and remain hopeful of securing a top deal.
Chelsea 'basically agreed' a fee to sell Axel Disasi to West Ham
According to Chelsea reporter Si Phillips on Tuesday, West Ham have remained in contact with Disasi about a permanent move to the London Stadium despite relegation.
It's said that a possible move already has Chelsea's blessing, with the Blues having "basically agreed" a fee of £25million to sell the centre-back to West Ham.
The Hammers are currently trying to convince the player to come back by guaranteeing him an important role at the club, though he unsurprisingly has many offers on the table.
It's important to note that Disasi has yet to turn West Ham away, with the Hammers also in talks with the Premier League side to sign an unnamed player on loan.
It's clear what West Ham want, and they'll be hoping to surprise Nuno with someone he truly loved working with.
What Nuno has said about Disasi amid return speculation
If West Ham had stayed up, Disasi may have already been announced as a permanent player for Nuno.
The former Wolves boss didn't hide his feelings on the defender after he made his debut for the club in the 2-0 win against Burnley in February.
Nuno said, as highlighted by Chelsea News: "We were solid. We were very, very strong in our box. Axel, Dino [Mavropanos], Aaron [Wan-Bissaka], Malick [Diouf], [Ollie] Scarles, they did a good job containing Burnley."
He predicted that Disasi would perform well for the Hammers before giving him his debut against Burnley.
Nuno said, as quoted by West Ham's official club website: "He's been working physically hard at Chelsea, and I see him doing well."
The Portuguese head coach was said to have a good relationship with Disasi, and is reportedly keen on reuniting with the Chelsea man this summer.
