Evan Ferguson starts West Ham United medical ahead of late transfer
West Ham United are closing in on Brighton striker Evan Ferguson as he begins his medical at the London Stadium, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports correspondent posted on X (2 February) with the latest on Ferguson, who was given his Brighton debut by Graham Potter and is now expected to reunite with his former boss.
The Irishman would be a crucial forward loan addition for the Hammers, who have suffered immensely from attacking injuries.
Sheth posted: “Ferguson currently having West Ham United medical.”
West Ham have almost got their man with Ferguson
Ferguson was one of several options on the radar of West Ham as the transfer window edges closer to its end on Monday (3 February) at 11 pm.
The 20-year-old still has a lot to prove having gone into the abyss at Brighton, and a reunion with Potter in front of a passionate and large-scale fanbase could be exactly what he needs.
Ferguson burst onto the scene as a teenager and has all the qualities to succeed in the Premier League, and should get plenty of chances to impress due to the Irons’ attacking absences.

Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio remain out for a sustained period and Jarrod Bowen is only just about to return to action.
Other targets such as Andre Silva have not materialised, and Potter will be content with one striker through the door before the window slams shut.
