Eric Dier transfer offered as West Ham react to new Lucas Paqueta bid

West Ham United’s busy transfer window has taken yet another twist as Nuno Espirito Santo continues to build his squad for the second half of the season.

The Hammers are seven points adrift of safety in the Premier League, meaning that their recruitment this month could decide whether they retain their top-flight status.

West Ham have already signed Taty Castellanos from Lazio and Pablo Felipe from Gil Vicente, with Luis Guilherme, Niclas Fullkrug, Callum Marshall, and George Earthy all departing.

As the halfway point of the January window closes in, the Hammers could now be set to complete another two deals.

West Ham consider Eric Dier option

West Ham entered talks with Eric Dier last summer, but the former Tottenham man joined French side AS Monaco instead.

However, the 31-year-old defender has made just six Ligue 1 appearances this season, and could be looking for a way out in January.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Dier has been offered to West Ham by Monaco, and the East London side are considering the option.

No concrete moves have been made as of yet, meaning the deal is not at an advanced stage, but it remains an interesting opportunity for Nuno’s side.

Dier is under contract at Monaco until 2028, having penned a three-year deal last summer, and it is not clear whether any potential switch to West Ham would be a loan or permanent.

West Ham set to receive new Lucas Paqueta bid

Amid considerations over a deal for Dier, West Ham are furiously fighting off bids for midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

Paqueta wants to leave the London Stadium this month and return to his native Brazil, but Nuno’s side are still keen to keep hold of the 28-year-old.

The Hammers star already has a verbal agreement with Flamengo, the club he started his career at.

According to Plettenberg though, West Ham are currently rejecting every offer from the Brazilian side for Paqueta.

Flamengo are expected to submit a new offer of over £35million in the coming days.
