Emerson Palmieri unhappy at West Ham United with transfer on cards

Emerson Palmieri is “not entirely happy” at West Ham United amid transfer interest from Juventus, according to JuveLive.

The news outlet reports [16 December] that the Serie A giants appreciate the left-back’s characteristics, and Thiago Motta wants the Italian in Turin, having asked the Bianconeri’s management to enquire.

With the Old Lady looking at the feasibility of the defender moving back to Italy, it remains to be seen what the Hammers do, with Luizao already expected to leave the London Stadium in January [UOL, 14 December].

With Julen Lopetegui’s future uncertain at the East London club, the Hammers will need to make some important decisions about reinforcements considering that.

West Ham United can’t allow Emerson Palmieri transfer to Juventus

The Irons can’t allow one of their regular starters to depart in January, as the team is currently in turmoil.

Lopetegui has struggled to bring the best out of the squad at his disposal and has the Hammers in 14th position in the Premier League ahead of the Bournemouth clash on Monday [16 December].

Emerson has been one of the players who has somewhat lived up to the billing in the current campaign, scoring one goal and providing one assist in 15 league matches.

West Ham have Aaron Cresswell as a backup option for the left-hand side of the defence, but the 35-year-old’s age doesn’t make him a long-term solution for the position.

Oliver Scarles has made the Irons’ squad on a few occasions this season, but the 19-year-old has a long way to go before breaking into the first team.

While Juventus are one of the biggest outfits in the world, and a move back to Italy might appeal to Emerson, the Hammers need to ensure they keep a hold of him at least until the end of the season.

In other West Ham news, Victor Lindelof is a transfer target going into January.
