Eintracht Frankfurt open to selling West Ham target Andre Silva
Eintracht Frankfurt would be willing to sell West Ham transfer target Andre Silva this summer, report Frankfurter Rundschau.
It is believed that Silva, whose agent is Jorge Mendes, wants to leave and will only be persuaded to stay if Frankfurt finish in the Champions League qualifying places – they are currently inside the top four by one point.
And it is said that the Bundesliga club would demand a price of €40million [£34.7million] to sell Silva.
The Irons were linked with a move for Silva in January [Daily Mail] and could also use Champions League qualification to appeal to the forward.
Top-quality striker
West Ham have been linked with several strikers of varying ability over the last few weeks but Silva arguably tops the lot.
He is a natural finisher and is playing at the top of his game right now, with 25 goals in 29 league games this term.
It would be brilliant to add a player who is high on confidence to the squad this summer, as opposed to the frozen-out Tammy Abraham or the often injured Danny Ings.
That pair have a keen eye for goal but so does Silva, and the 25-year-old has the added advantage of having played in Italy and Spain.
He also has seven assists this season and his contribution up-front has made him a key player in Frankfurt’s bid for the Champions League.
We can imagine him fulfilling a similar role at the London Stadium, and we are certain a signing of his calibre would boost our players and the fans.
He would cost a lot but given his age and track record we are confident he would be a successful signing for David Moyes.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have tabled an offer to sign an ex-Premier League winger, and the player has responded.
