Douglas Luiz ‘ready to quit’ as West Ham determined to seal transfer now
West Ham’s pursuit of Douglas Luiz has received a boost.
Graham Potter‘s side are crying out for fresh blood in the engine room after their struggles last season.
The former Aston Villa star would fit the bill as he has significant Premier League experience and would bring a tenacity that the Irons have lacked recently.
A move to the London Stadium does not seem beyond the realm of possibility.

Luiz wants to quit amid West Ham interest
Luiz could make the move to West Ham shortly after a new development from Italy.
A report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 9, 22 July) claims that Luiz wants to quit Juventus as soon as possible to get his World Cup ambitions with Brazil back on track.
It states that the Hammers, as well as Nottingham Forest, are the “most determined” to sign him ahead of Everton, who are also interested, as the Italian side are willing to sanction a loan-to-buy deal.

West Ham should prioritise Luiz capture
Potter cannot rely on the likes of Edson Alvarez and Guido Rodriguez at the base of midfield, and the duo could be sold this summer.
That would leave space for the 27-year-old to arrive in East London, and he could drastically change Potter’s fortunes in E20.
His time in Italy has been miserable, but a return to English football could be exactly what he needs to spark his career back to life.
Iconic commentator Ian Darke told West Ham Zone that London will be an advantage for the Irons in the race for his signature, as most foreign stars want to live in the capital.
David Sullivan and Co need to take advantage if that in the case, and secure his signature ahead of their rivals.
He would add an element that Potter’s side are without at the moment, a determination and steel that the likes of Rodriguez and Alvarez do not possess in the number six role.
It would be a masterstroke if the Hammers could sign him, and they should do everything that they can to get him in the Claret and Blue next season.
