Door open for West Ham United to sign Dario Osorio as transfer news drops
Universidad de Chile manager Mauricio Pellegrino has admitted the club will have to sell West Ham-linked star winger Dario Osorio if they wish to enter the transfer market this season, in an interview with Lacuarta.
This admission could open the door for West Ham to make another move after the club were reportedly ready to make a £7.5million bid for Osorio a matter of days ago [The Sun, 1 July]. They will need to move quickly, though, with Wolves and AC Milan also showing interest.
Speaking to Lacuarta, Pellegrino was asked about potential incoming deals, as he admitted: “The club told us that it is very difficult to sign a player if we do not sell Darío Osorio, that is the reality of the institution. If no money comes in, it’s difficult for us to sign a quality player, and there’s no problem in saying so.”

Osorio would be brilliant for West Ham as the club look to bring in reinforcements for the wide areas, and already has plenty of first-team experience under his belt at just 19 years old, having made 27 appearances for his club last season, and playing ten of the 15 games so far this year.
The talented winger has scored nine goals from 44 appearances in his fledgling career and will look to add more end product to his game that will come with more experience, but his speed and trickery would make him a valuable asset for any club.

West Ham are targeting wingers this summer, having been linked to ex-Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha [The Mirror, 1 July], Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes [90min, 6 July] and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi [Ben Jacobs, 4 July] this summer.
Each of these options would be more of a sure thing for the Hammers as they are proven talents in the Premier League, but would also represent greater outlay in terms of both transfer fees and wages, while Osorio could be an option for the future, to grow with West Ham and potentially make a profit.
The door is wide open.
