Dharmesh Sheth: West Ham United January transfer for Wolves captain Max Kilman rated

It will be “difficult” for West Ham to sign Wolves ace Max Kilman this month, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Sheth believes the Hammers would only turn to the centre-back if there was a departure in that area at the London Stadium.

Kilman has made 22 appearances in all competitions this season, and is currently captain of the club under manager Gary O’Neil.

“Signing Kilman would be difficult for West Ham to do in this window,” Sheth told GIVEMESPORT (13 December). “Wolves wouldn’t want to see him go. He signed a contract last summer until 2028.

“He looks like one of the untouchables even though we know about Wolves’ financial situation, and sometimes they need to sell before they can go into the market. So, you can never say a player is not for sale, particularly at Wolves. It would all depend on what kind of price will be offered for somebody like Kilman.

“But I think West Ham would probably only go into the market with regard to trying to bring someone in if there was a departure in that position.”

West Ham

Rock solid

Kilman has been a rock for Wolves in recent seasons, with his displays deservedly resulting in the captain’s armband going his way. The 26-year-old has been as reliable as ever at Molineux this season, with Wolves going strong under O’Neil.

The last thing the manager would want is to lose his captain this month, with the club clearly moving in the right direction at this moment in time.

West Ham have lost centre-back Nayef Aguerd to the Africa Cup of Nations this month, but manager David Moyes prepared for that scenario with the summer signature of Konstantinos Mavropanos.

The Hammers boss also has the likes of Angelo Ogbonna to call upon alongside regular central defender Kurt Zouma.

But Moyes could be tempted to improve his options given how the club are trying to successfully compete in various competitions this season.

The East London outfit will be desperate to keep their superb league campaign going, as well as trying to lift further silverware in Europe, this time in the Europa League.

In other West Ham news, a January exit is “difficult” for one Hammers player due to an “unbelievable” contract issue.
