Dharmesh Sheth shares Said Benrahma update amid new West Ham United January transfer timeline
Two new French clubs have joined Lyon in the race to sign West Ham ace Said Benrahma in January, but he is unlikely to leave unless the Hammers find a replacement, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist reported via their transfer blog on 10 January that, due to the ongoing injury crisis at the London Stadium, the club’s transfer plans may be pushed back.
Sheth reported that there would be more clarity around West Ham’s stance towards the end of the transfer window, including on whether or not Benrhama will leave.

No further clarity
Still, no further clarity has been provided as to how the transfer window will play out in East London, with that clarity to arrive towards the end of the window, but Benrahma’s situation is certainly one to watch.
The Algerian winger has lost his starting place under Moyes, with Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta the first-choice trio in the attacking positions, and has been frustrated by a lack of game time and below-par performances so far this season.
However, due to the injuries to Bowen and Paqueta, and with Mohammed Kudus away at the African Cup of Nations, Benrhama may have stumbled on a place in the starting lineup at the London Stadium.

This wouldn’t be a long-term solution, as the return of the star players would mean Benrahma dropped out of the team again, but for now, it would mean West Ham would be left dangerously short of options if they did decide to cash in on the Algerian.
In other West Ham news, Lucas Paqueta has made a new statement regarding his injury.
