Dharmesh Sheth shares Kudus to West Ham update, could be done this weekend
West Ham are putting finishing touches on a deal to sign Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, as the player wants to join the Hammers, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
A fee of £38million is understood to be close amid optimism that the deal can be done this weekend, despite late moves from an unnamed Premier League club as well as Saudi Arabian sides.
While one source told Sky Sports the deal was in the balance at it was 50/50 whether or not it would happen, new information has claimed Ajax wanted him to play tonight to help them reach the Europa League group stages.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Transfer Show, and shared via their Transfer Centre website [19:51], Sheth reported: “We think West Ham are just putting the finishing touches to a deal for Mohammed Kudus.
“A broad agreement for a deal worth around £38m is understood to be close. There is work to do but I am told there is a cautious optimism they can get it over the line this weekend. There was another Premier League club that we think came in late, but we understand that he wants to go to West Ham.”
A late hiccup, but optimism still remains
Despite what seemed to be a late hiccup in the deal, after new offers for the player brought question marks over whether West Ham would get it over the line, optimism remained at the London Stadium and it seems the Hammers could have a new player come this weekend.

Kudus has featured in Ajax’s game tonight [24 August] and at the time of writing [20:03] has scored a brace as he puts on a show for his potential new employers, with fans and likely the club as well getting very excited over his potential impact in the Premier League.
The Ghanaian had been linked with moves to Chelsea and Arsenal this summer, so the unnamed Premier League club with a late offer may well have been one of them, with the Blues in particular operating very loosely in the transfer market with their seemingly endless transfer kitty.
Kudus’ decision to join the Hammers will be a major boost to the club, both on and off the pitch as it shows they can attract some very highly-rated talent.
